The Photographers Gallery

We have been lucky enough to cater at this central London gallery a number of times in the past. Founded in 1971 it was the first uk gallery dedicated to the medium of Photography.  In 2012 it moved to its current premises on Ramillies Street in the heart of the Westend. With 5 stories of gallery and event space it is such a great venue to work in (not without its quirks).

I always find myself too busy (either in the kitchen or involved in the set up), to take photos ! but here are a few pics and menu from an event we did a few weeks ago during this amazing exhibition –  “Feast for the Eyes -The story of food in Photography”, on until the 9th of February. see link here for details https://thephotographersgallery.org.uk/whats-on/exhibition/feast-eyes-story-food-photography

Exploring the rich history of food photography through some of the leading figures and movements within the genre including: Nobuyoshi ArakiNan GoldinMartin ParrMan RayCindy ShermanWolfgang Tillmans and Weegee.

Encompassing fine-art and vernacular photography, commercial and scientific images, photojournalism and fashion, the exhibition looks at the development of this form and the artistic, social and political contexts that have informed it.

Such a vibrant and colourful exhibition – and one naturally close to my heart so it was a pleasure to cater 3 events (and another one pending) during this run.
